Whitby Running Club welcomes members of all abilities to get fit, make new friends and release those all-important endorphins that support positivity.
The club offers a social and supportive environment for anyone to join and enjoy running in the open environment. All our runs are between 5 - 8km and run on multi-terrain with enjoyment as an aim. We deliver our sessions under the ethos of 'we start together and we finish together'
Whitby running club was established in 2019, our club philosophy is that we are a community running club that offers a safe and friendly environment to inspire all abilities.
Our club is affiliated to England Athletics and all our run leaders hold the 'Leadership in Running Fitness' qualification, which includes a first aid qualification, and an up to date DBS. The Club has also three England Athletics Mental Health Champions and trained Mental Health First Aiders. All our runs are posted on the Run Together website and App. As a club we also hold social events to engage with members and improve wellness.
If you are interested in joining the club, or just want to find out more, please get in touch and we will gladly tell you about our wonderful club. Just come 5-10 minutes before the start time, the club session will be explained by that day's run leader who will be happy to answer any questions. You'll get fit, make new friends and release those all important endorphins that support positivity. Healthy body=healthy mind. We always welcome new members, and can accommodate all levels and experience of runner.
All you need is a pair of running shoes and you are good to go! Fancy watches and expensive footwear can come later if you desire but to start with you don't need anything. Everyone can run, you may not have great form but if you know how to place one foot in front of the other then you can settle into a decent pace and give it a go.
